DAVID FOWLER AIR CHECKS
Station: NewsTalk 57 WPLP
Date: 07/28/84 or 8/4/84 - David's On-Air Audition at WPLP.
(Cheap tape - bad tape noise in the middle
segments, runs out just before the show was over.)
This has to be considered the "birth" of what's being called
"The Grand Old Days" of Tampa Bay Talk Radio. As the show
went on, the nervousness disappeared, and David started
laughing, relaxing and having a good time. A caller who
had listened to his show in Houston mentions David Fowler's
Chili Recipe. David was dang proud of that recipe, and a
GIS brought up this
newspaper clipping in the Houston Chronicle from the early
80's.I am looking
for more tape of David Fowler. If you have ANY shows,
in particular "The Russian Dance Story", or the "Banana Suit
Story" please e-mail me
and I'll make arrangements to convert the tapes to digital.
I'm also looking for pictures of David, there is NOTHING on the
internet.
